Too Busy to Pray?

On most days, you may find yourself (just as I have) rushing at the start of the day. It may be that you are so focused on your concerns and to-do’s, that you hardly have time to pray.

But it is always a good time to pray. In fact, the busier you are, the better. Prayer will calm you down and direct you in the way you need to go.

Monsignor Dan Sta. Maria of Christ the King Parish suggests a quick way to pray at the start of the day. He says you can start by praying one Our Father and one Hail Mary. Then, thank God for a new day. After, ask the Lord: “What good can I do today?” Lastly, ask the Lord for the Holy Spirit and the strength to affect positively the lives of the people whom you will meet today.

Not too difficult, right? And not too time-consuming. We’re just into the first month of 2009. It’s a good time to resolve to pray more. Put things in proper perspective and remind yourself what you are here for by saying the brief prayer above on a daily basis. I am sure you will feel more at peace in the days to come.
