If you are a Filipino blogger or if you are on the internet a lot, chances are you know who Anton Diaz is. Anton Diaz is one of the more popular Filipino bloggers and if you wish to find out about which restaurants to go to, places to visit, shows and musicals to watch, then you had better check out ourawesomeplanet.com

Anton Diaz kindly wrote about the book Mom’s A Stewardess while on a trip to Bohol. I am glad that the book gave him a different perspective about specific aspects about his life. I wonder where the book that he gave away is right now? How many people have actually read it?

Anton also intends to publish a book soon. This is his OAP book: 100 Awesome Experiences Only in the Philippines. I will be watching out for his book and am sure a lot of his readers are too.

Here is where you can read Anton’s Mom’s A Stewardess write up.

Cess Papas is a mommy blogger and she kindly featured Mom’s A Stewardess in her blog. She entitled her post Good Reads and referred to Mom’s A Stewardess as a parenting book (which it is, in a way) which can serve as a breath of fresh air amid the daily stresses of being a parent.

Lady Cess (as Cess is known in the Philippine blogosphere) is a wife, mother, and homekeeper by choice. Her blog can be a good resource page for stay-at-home moms like her, as well as for mothers, in general.

More recently, Lady Cess joined forces with other mommy bloggers to come up with The Filipino Mom Blog, a group blog where several bloggers take turns contributing articles or blog posts. This blog covers topics like parenting, child development, marriage and relationship, news and events, health, and food. The blog started in September 2008 and has a respectable number of posts to date. Featured mommy bloggers (aside from Cess) are: Feng, iMom, KongKong, Lynn, Teacher Julie, and Wenchie. If there is something that you would like to learn about mommy-hood, doesn’t it make perfect sense to go to the women who live, breathe, sleep and eat mommy-dom every single day of their immensely-blessed mommy lives?

I like their tagline: “Motherhood is a journey best travelled with friends.” And on the internet, most especially, we learn moreso, that “there are no strangers, only friends you haven’t met.”

If you would like to check out Cess’ blog and what she wrote about Mom’s A Stewardess, here is her Mom’s A Stewardess post. Here, likewise is her latest article at Occupation: SAHM. Here too, is The Filipino Mom Blog.

I do not know Cathy Babao Guballa personally. We have not even met. I do know though that she blogs and that she writes a column for the Philippine Daily Inquirer on Sundays.

Her column is called Roots and Wings. In each column, she invites readers to communicate with her through e-mail.

I’ve been trying to get the word out about my Mom’s A Stewardess book so I decided to try and get in touch with Ms. Cathy to ask for her help. I e-mailed her, explained the concept of the book and asked if she could help me by writing about the book. She replied promptly and so I proceeded to send her a copy of the book for her to read.

On August 3, 2008, her column came out and it was entitled: An Inspiring Book for Parents. In her column, she wrote about a recent hospital experience and then related it to one of the chapters in my book called: “Between Kawasaki and the Deep Red Sea.” She highlighted the lessons that I enumerated in the chapter as lessons I had learned when my daughter had Kawasaki Disease at the age of two.

When I talk to people who have read the book, I always try to ask for feedback on which story they liked best. So far, Between Kawasaki and the Deep Red Sea is one of the more popular ones. I guess most parents identify with it as we all worry when our children are sick or when things don’t go too well.

I first heard about Ms. Cathy when I read before about Migi’s Corner Foundation. Migi’s Corner is named after Ms. Cathy’s son, Migi who died from complications from open heart surgery. In memory of her son, the foundation puts up bright playrooms in various hospitals, particularly for indigent children in government hospitals. There are now about 13 Migi’s Corners all over the country.

I am grateful to Ms. Cathy for her openness to help a first-time, unknown book author like me. I am sure her PDI column did a lot in letting people know that such a book is in the market. I already know of at least one person who went out and bought the book because she read about it in the newspaper column.

More than helping me out with my book though, I am amazed at how she has turned the passing away of her son into an opportunity to help and reach out to others. That can only be possible with faith in our good Lord.

If you wish to visit Cathy Babao Guballa’s blog, you can read her writings at www.nancydrewandme.blogspot.com

Thanks again for your help, Ms. Cathy!

Lorna Gay Lopez is the blogger behind TheBachelorGirl.com. She is also an events organizer and a show buyer.

If you go visit her blog, you will see that Lorna writes about a wide range of unrelated topics. She writes about theater, movies, and events; fashion and beauty; life in Cubao; consumer issues and incidents, both positive and negative; and health, among other topics. Recently, she has also started to write Filipino or Tagalog posts, every now and then. I visited her blog one time and I was amazed at how she could easily write about Cinderella in theater and then also convey her joy at watching the latest Sarah Geronimo and John Lloyd Cruz starrer within a few days of each other.

Sometime in August, Lorna invited our family to watch Mulan staged by Repertory Philippines. I was so happy to hear that she had also invited some orphans to watch the show through Hands On Manila. I will also always be grateful to Lorna as during the show that she bought, she also allowed me to raffle off three copies of my book Mom’s A Stewardess to the audience so that more people could read it and hear about it. So, thanks a lot again Lorna!

If you would like to read her interesting blog posts regarding just about anything happening in the metropolis, do visit www.thebachelorgirl.com

Sana Sta. Ana is my batchmate from grade school and high school. We went to Institucion Teresiana, which later became Poveda Learning Centre, and which is now known as St. Pedro Poveda College.

Sana is an entrepreneur. She is a creative person who seeks to bring out the artisan in all of us. Hence, her line of ArteSana products. Her very first product offering is the Passport Travel Journal which allows travelers to document their journeys in a quick, easy, but still personalized manner. If you would like to inquire about her products and place wholesale and corporate orders, please e-mail her at info.artesena@gmail.com

I will always be grateful to Sana for coming to the book launch and for getting copies of my book also. She has also written a review of the book in her multiply site. Please check it out. You can also visit the other sections of her blog to learn more about her products, her various activities, and about different facets of her interesting personality and life.

Sana is also very active in an international NGO called All Together in Dignity Fourth World Philippines. This NGO helps families living in extreme poverty. For every product that you buy from Sana, a portion goes to ATD. You can visit the ATD website to learn more about its objectives and programs. Ms. Nina Lim-Yuson, President of Museo Pambata, who so kindly helped me out with the book by writing a testimonial for it, is likewise active with ATD, together with Sana. I actually met Nina through Sana and am also grateful for that.

So, if you are looking for a worthy cause to support or if you are looking to purchase products which will allow you to give, not only to your friends, but to total strangers who will never be able to repay you for your kindness, do check out Sana’s multiply site.

I will always be grateful to Ms. Annalyn Jusay for being the first blogger to help me out in promoting the book. I informed her about Mom’s A Stewardess and asked for her assistance in spreading the word about the book.

Annalyn has helped out a lot of bloggers by featuring them in her Blog-O-Rama column which appears in the Manila Bulletin every Monday. She featured the book Mom’s A Stewardess in her column on July 21, 2008. She sent me some interesting questions to answer. Questions like why I came out with a book in traditional form; or how to apply the principles of stewardship on the internet; and what precious lessons I’ve learned from writing and blogging.

To Annalyn, thank you very much for your help. If you wish to read her blog, you can visit www.annalyn.net
