Last October 2, was the Feast of the Guardian Angels. Every year (for so many years now), my husband and I troop to the Ateneo for the Guardian Angel Fiesta as Ateneo Grade School has its fair coinciding with the Feast of the Guardian Angels. Families have their “salu-salo” (a get-together) where they share food, play games, and enjoy whatever musical numbers the boys have prepared.
Since my college days at UP, I have been going to the Book Fair. Each time that I find myself near a bookstore or a room full of books, I either run out of cash or sign away using my credit card.
If you liked the book cover drawing of Mom’s A Stewardess (part of which appears on this blog), the artist responsible for that was Jill Arwen Posadas. When I started thinking about how I wanted the cover of the book to look like, I knew I wanted something light, fun, and young-looking.
September 8 is the birthday of our Mother Mary. Catholics all over the world love Mother Mary similar to how we would honor, love, and respect our earthly mothers.
Last August 16, 2008, Lorna Lopez of thebachelorgirl.com invited our family to watch Disney’s Mulan Jr. at Onstage Greenbelt. Knowing how much my daughter Ali liked Mulan 1 and 2, we were grateful to Lorna for her generosity (as always!).
Note: The Book Launch for Mom’s A Stewardess was held last July 9, 2008. Part of the program was a Message from the Author. I had meant to write out my message in full, but due to time constraints, I ended up just scribbling my main points and just speaking spontaneously from there. With this blog entry, I hope to document more completely, what I had intended to say:
Claretian Communications Foundation, Inc. and Claretian Hope Center Foundation, Inc. have put up a Stewardship Institute for the Philippines and will be holding Training for Trainors On the Spirituality of Stewardship from July 8-10, 2008. This will be held at the Claretian Hope Center Conference Hall, Aurora Milestone Tower, 1045 Aurora Blvd., Loyola Heights, Quezon City.
Happy Mother’s Day to all mothers! And a blessed and holy one too. Today is Mother’s Day and we express our gratitude to the women who have been so generous and responsible throughout our lives — our mothers.
Last February 17, 2008, our parish celebrated Stewardship Sunday for the second time. Stewardship Sunday is a way by which we hope to increase awareness about stewardship among the parishioners of Christ the King.
